MORS and the Military Applications Society (MAS) of INFORMS Joint Student Membership Program supports students and young analysts...the future of the profession. The program provides learning and growth opportunities, including bi-monthly webinars. Topics will be driven by participant interests and needs and may include operations research job opportunities, a typical day in the life of an OR analyst, internship opportunities and opportunities to brief your research.
You DON'T need to be a MORS member to participate, but please consider joining MORS. Student membership is only $25 and the benefits of joining your society include a print copy of the quarterly Phalanx magazine, discounts on events and merchandise, access to the peer-reviewed MORS Journal, meeting reports and more.

Jack Levis, Director of Process Management, UPS and Vice President - Practice at INFORMS, "The Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS) Analytics movement - highlights of how INFORMS is moving forward with embracing analytics to support military and industry decisions." Jack's talk provides an overview of the steps that INFORMS is taking to maintain a leadership position in the analytics movement including examples of how UPS is using analytics to support key planning and management decisions.
Norman Reitter, Senior Director, Analytics, Syngineering, LLC and Board Director of the Military Operations Research Society (MORS) presents "Industry Consulting to Military Problems using Operations Research Methods". His talk provides the student perspective of the types of relevant problems that the military is facing and how operations research techniques can be used to help provide insight into the best options forward. His brief includes several examples of past project work with the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army, and NATO to show how operations research has been already used in this domain.
