Overview

The MORS Certificate in Survey Process is a four-day course for all analysts seeking to gain a practical understanding in the various aspects of research survey methodology. The course will cover the basic principles of survey research and will provide participants with guidance in the design and execution of high-quality surveys.

MORS has partnered with Virginia Tech to offer this certificate. Participants will receive a number Continuing Education Units (CEUs) upon completion, in accordance with the number of contact hours determined by Virginia Tech.

Objectives:

Our expert instructor will guide participants through the key aspects of properly designing, fielding, and analyzing surveys. A variety of topics will be covered, including:

  • Survey instrument design
  • How to avoid pitfalls and ensure the capture of quality data
  • Rules of thumb and pain-points when crafting survey questions
  • Modes of data collection
  • Statistical estimation
  • Methods and use cases for survey data analysis

Mr. W. Kulzy

Walter W. Kulzy (“W”) builds decision advantage where uncertainty is the default and mistakes are expensive. He is the Founder and CEO of Knowledge, Intel & Guidance LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business that integrates GenAI into decision-making frameworks to turn complex inputs into credible, defensible guidance. He is also the CEO of Black Wave Design & Development LLC. Over a 20+ year U.S. Navy career as an Operations Research analyst, W supported elite mission sets across U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR), and Navy Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU)—helping leaders plan and act when the situation refuses to be clean and operational precision is non-negotiable. He later served six years as a Senior Operations Research Scientist at Johns Hopkins University/Applied Physics Laboratory, where he earned the Air & Missile Defense Sector’s prestigious “X” Award for developing next-generation capability that advanced the state of the art. Today, W is helping redefine how high-stakes decisions are made with GenAI. His current work focuses on making decision systems transparent, defensible, and operationally usable at scale.
