The 86th Symposium will be held on 18-21 June 2018 in Monterey, California at the Naval Postgraduate School.  This year’s sessions will be conducted at the classified and unclassified clearance level with FOUO options.  Corresponding portions of the Symposium are open to U.S. Citizens with or without a clearance and cleared “Five EYES” (FVEY) participants with some restrictions. 

The keynote for the 86th MORSS is Retired Vice Admiral Ronald A. Route, President of the Naval Postgraduate School.  For his full bio please visit here.

The 86th Symposium will include 500+ sessions taking place in 33 Working Groups, 7 Composite groups, Distributed Working Groups, Special Sessions, Demos, Tutorials and CEU Courses over the four-day program.To view all the abstracts being presented, click here. 

There will also be multiple social events through-out the symposium.  Socials Include:

On Tuesday we will be having a MORS social from 1630-1900 at The Roman Plunge, an outdoor space behind Herrmann Hall, adjacent to the reflecting pool.  Tickets for the social are $15.00 and can be purchased at registration.  Bus transportation will be available at the end of the event to return to the MORS contracted hotels. 

Also, on Tuesday will be the Junior Analyst Social Lunch from 1200-1300 at the Herrmann Hall - The Roman Plunge.  Join fellow Junior Analysts for networking at The Roman Plunge, an outdoor space behind Herrmann Hall, adjacent to the reflecting pool. Tickets for the social are $20.00 and can be purchased at registration. 

On Wednesday we recommend participants explore either Downtown Monterey, Cannery Row or Carmel-by-the-Sea from 1830-2230.  The fee of $5 provides you bus transportation to and from the following places:

  • Downtown Monterey: Amazing local eats, craft brews, and rich nightlife
  • Cannery Row: Historic sites, ocean views, and wide range of cuisines
  • Carmel by the Sea: Reputation for gourmet excellence, great wine selections and unique cottage charm

We will provide maps and lists of recommended restaurants, wine tasting locations, and other areas of interest.

 On Thursday from 0600-0700 will be the 5-K Race at San Carlos Beach Park.  Promote a healthy heart along with healthy analytics!
