The
Education Colloquium will be held in
early spring 2008 at the Air Force Institute of Technology, Wright-Patterson
AFB, Dayton, OH. I want to
encourage you to attend the Colloquium and witness some of the brightest
students in the country as they compete in the Student Competition and present
their ongoing student projects and theses.
Finally, the MORS year will conclude 10-12 June 2008 with the 76th MORS
Symposium, and the Society’s return to the United States Coast Guard Academy
in New London, CT after a 38-year absence.
In
addition to our meetings, we are working several initiatives to improve the
Society and benefits of membership. We
are continuing and expanding upon the exciting mentorship program initiated two
years ago by our Education Committee, including tutorials as part of every
meeting this year, expanding our use of web-based capabilities to include
on-line registration for meetings and symposia, expanding our interaction with
all users of military operations research to include outreach to civilian
educational institutions, as well as institute a Junior Analyst Award to be
presented at the 76th Symposium. For
the latest updates on our meeting slate and the initiatives mentioned above
please check the MORS website http://www.mors.org
or contact the MORS office.
This is your Society. I encourage you to share your ideas and your time as we work this year to make our Society better. Please contact me, the members of the Executive council, members of the Board of Directors, and the MORS Office Staff with your ideas for Analysis for a More Secure World.
