During the colloquium students have the opportunity to present current research projects and interact with fellow OR students from other academic institutions. They also have the fortune to listen to guidance and lessons learned from experts in various topics in the field of OR. Additionally, the colloquium program includes a “quick reaction analysis” student competition. The student completion allow students from all participating institutions to work on an OR problem together, demonstrate their skills and learn different ways to approach a problem toward a team solution. The winning team receives a special recognition by the Society and each member of the winning team receives a prize.
Come and join us at the 2010 MORS Education and Professional Development Colloquium on April 14-15 at the United States Army Logistics University (ALU) in Fort Lee, Virginia. Commensurate with our theme of “Operations Research, a Global Solution Methodology”, this year we have gathered a distinguished group of speakers that will share their expertise on topics of global relevance and the application of OR methodologies toward the solution of national and international challenges. The proposed topics range from national security, power and energy, and personnel issues, to human behavior analysis and others.
