Working Group 14 Charter
Strike Warfare and Power Projection

(Last Updated 30 August 2007)

Purpose:   The purpose of Working Group (WG) 14 is to exchange information on best practices that promote the growth of operations research in the realm of joint strike warfare and global power projection.

Discussion:   The U.S. and its allies face a wide range of threats and situations where flexibility and responsiveness are keys to operational success in both regional conflicts and the Global War on Terrorism. The Joint Vision 2020 and complementary service vision documents provide a framework for transformation of the U.S. Armed Forces to maintain “full spectrum dominance” in future military operations.  Projection of power, precision engagement, information superiority and innovation are key operational capabilities and enablers that enable military forces to dominate the future battlespace and achieve national security objectives.  WG-14 provides a forum for discussion of issues that relies on service-specific and joint military capabilities, power projection concepts, and emerging technologies.  Presentations and discussions will concentrate on joint force capabilities within the Find, Fix, Track, Target, Engage, and Assess (F2T2EA) kill chain to enable the prosecution of a wide range of targets within the strategic, operational, and tactical levels of warfare that may include both kinetic and non-kinetic options.  Presenters may also focus on maintaining regional presence with the intent to directly influence behavior within the area of concern.  Representatives from the operations, systems acquisition, research and development, test and evaluation, and analysis communities are active participants in WG-14 sessions.  These sessions will concentrate on techniques, results of analytical efforts and policy assessments.

Other Working Groups:  WG-14 participates in combined sessions with other working groups that are part of Composite Group C – Joint Warfare.
