Posters Competition


This is the Military Operations Research Society (MORS) Education and Professional Development (EPD) Colloquium Poster Competition. It is designed to allow greater participation among Graduate and Undergraduate students that are not able to present their research at the colloquium.

Who May Enter The Competition?

Any graduate (Masters) or undergraduate student of a school that is participating in the MORS EPD Colloquium AND is unable to present their current research at the colloquium. Students that are unable to attend the colloquium due to conflicts are eligible to participate. Schools are limited to no more than three posters, but posters may be joint work.

Deadline for Submissions

An abstract and a presentation disclosure form (either a 712A or 712B) must be submitted to the MORS office by fax no later than 7 April 2010.

Competition

The posters will be judged by members of MORS that attend the colloquium. The judging will be based on creativity, explanation of the problem, solution methodology and recommended solutions. The competition will occur during the social event at the end of the first day of the Education and Professional development Colloquium. Students should be prepared to discuss their posters with the judges. For students unable to attend the colloquium, someone from the institution should be cognizant of the research on the poster. Posters will be on display at the colloquium on easels provided by the Army Logistics University. Winners will be announced at the conclusion of the colloquium.
Posters should be
24 inches tall and 30 inches wide!
              
Judging Criteria
  1. Overall impact of the display for eye-catching appeal and visual attractiveness, and for its ability to draw in the viewer to investigate the graph or graphs.
  2. Clarity of the message's demonstration of relationships and patterns, obvious conclusions, and the ability to stand alone, even without the documentation the back of the poster.
  3. Appropriateness of the graphics for the data
  4. Creativity, neatness, and originality.
